What recipients say
The S&K Scholarship is a pivotal step in my journey toward becoming a cybersecurity professional. Easing my financial stress allows me to focus fully on my studies and inspires me to give back to the cybersecurity community. I am profoundly grateful to Omkhar, Sabrina, and the NYU Center for Cybersecurity for opening doors and investing in my potential.
I grew up in the Bronx not knowing many people who had taken their education this far. It took me a long time to get here. The hardest part was never the coursework, it was learning to see the road ahead. I teach now at the same community college where I started, mentoring students who stand where I once stood and offering the guidance I did not have. The S&K Scholarship means I can carry a full course load instead of stretching this degree across years I cannot afford. More than that, it means the students in my classroom get to watch someone finish. Thank you for investing in my education and in the community I serve.
This scholarship truly means a lot to me. As a mom, a woman in STEM, and an immigrant in the U.S., it has eased my financial stress and given me the peace of mind to focus on my education. It motivates me to keep going and hopefully one day support others the same way.
